Toy Story 4 Full Movie

When we saw Woody, Buzz for the last time with his group of beloved toys passed from his adorable boy to another and his home would no longer be the same. Andy has already grown and is going to start a new life in college, but he does not feel safe keeping his precious friends, his favorite childhood toys. But he decided to donate them to a girl named Bonnie, she promised to treasure his precious toys just as he had.

This is how the fourth installment of the incredibly attractive Toy Story franchise (directed by veteran Pixar member Josh Cooley) arrives, our heroes have entered a more feminine domain. The favorite games now are “house” and “hat shop”, and the rule of the hanger in the toy closet is Dolly, a felt and buttons boss, instead of Woody, the cowboy.

It’s a matriarchal regime worthy of a franchise reset with gender change: Bonnie even takes Woody’s sheriff’s badge out of her plaid chest and gives it to cowgirl Jessie. But while Toy Story 4 has a bit of fun with Woody’s discomfort about reversing roles, in most cases we go back to the standard procedure. Most of this film is dedicated to impeccably crafted action sequences, good humor gags and Woody himself (Tom Hanks), partnered with a new friend, Forky (Tony Hale), a small and uncomfortable companion that Bonnie created from leftovers. in his first adventure in kindergarten. You have to persuade Forky that it’s a toy to be cherished, not just junk, and his vivid existential crisis provides one of the film’s most satisfying philosophical detours.

However, among the pieces of the set, one could almost call romcom. A poignant flashback just before the Toy Story 3 events of 2010 shows Woody in Bo Peep’s (Annie Potts) bounce, and he runs into her again in the present. Now she is a rude person, a kind of pottery that Sarah Connor travels the world correcting errors, with plaster bandages on cracked limbs, and she takes off her satin skirt to reveal practical pants underneath. Woody is initially horrified, she no longer has a child of her own.

As with previous Toy Story films, this uses the child-toy relationship to consider parenthood, but may be the most progressive delivery. Woody tenderly lifts Forky from Bonnie’s backpack like a newborn, and he and Buzz are exhausted by staying up all night watching him.

Keanu Reeves is infectiously attractive as a bubble head trick cyclist, better to pose than to ride. Ally Maki is the voice of Giggle McDimples, a Lilliputian cop who acts as the best brazen friend of Bo Peep, a staple of the romcom format.

The broken doll of Christina Hendricks, Gabby Gabby, is the most attractive new character. The Toy Story series often produces hay of the incredibly sinister quality of realistic dolls, and Gabby Gabby seems to be the ringleader of a cult cannibal toy, flanked by ventriloquist trusted men with broken ankles and loose necks of movie zombies. She is slow and moving, and it is revealed that she is less of a villain than a victim of defective electronics, who dreams of unsuccessfully playing “tea time” with a girl who will love her.

The toys are made to be embraced and manipulated, and the level of textural detail in the animation has reached new heights here, creating almost playable objects. Worn plastic, splintered wood and thick dust mats in the film’s most meticulously drawn location, an antique shop, are impressively lifelike. And a start sequence in a storm seems designed almost in its entirety to show the dreaded pixel control of the team.

The Toy Story series has traveled a cunning path: vibrant colors, adorable cables, humor and frenetic action to please children and sentimental narrative arcs about how to grow to pull the strings of the parents’ heart. Toy Story 4 may be the most adult film on the set so far, one that explores the possibility of a second independent life for parents who live in a vacuum. Or, as the movie says: there is a world of adventures for the “lost toys” beyond the previously seemingly infinite domains of the toy box.

Woody has always had plenty of what is his lace on the ground, and what is his priority: to lead his oligarch, either Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds Forky, a bright and polished chirimbolo to her cubbyhole, she starts a new foray that will allow old and new friends to show Woody how sublime the airship can be.
